liner notes:

when i was about 13, i was alone in my basement room at my parents house while the rest of the family was away... i decided to try to do some recording, so i strapped on my old warped-necked acoustic guitar which was purchased when i was in elementary school for guitar lessons, then stuck a microphone inside the body and connected that to an early-seventies am/fm/cassette recorder... i also put on a huge pair of yellow headphones that also had a built-in am/fm radio in them, plus fired up an electric chord organ with a fan almost as loud as the organ itself... i had written a set of words entitled 'suicide run'... which i loudly screamed while leaning on the chord organ and playing inept guitar scramblings... all horribly distorted with the recording microphone feeding back thru the headphones... what it actually sounded like in the room i will never know, but... to the best of my recollection, the way the recording on the tape came out was all guitar noise... mid-wail, i looked up to find my father had come home and was standing there with an indescribable look on his face...
when i pulled the headphones off, he said:
'is that really how you feel?'
